Show Me the Money: Chinese Investors Now Can Pay $200,000 for Citizenship in Dominica

Show Me the Money: Chinese Investors Now Can Pay $200,000 for Citizenship in Dominica

Dominica is a small island in the Caribbean with a population of only 7.1 million. Many people confuse it with the Dominican Republic, but it is not the same place (People who live there must be  sick of having to make that distinction all the time). Dominica's Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit visited China last week, hoping to strike up a deal to attract Chinese investor immigrants who want to ditch the dusty city streets for tropical paradise.

Skerrit told “First Financial Daily,” and other media outlets that there are two ways to become a citizen of Dominica. The first is to apply through the nation's government. The second, easier way, is to invest a minimum of 200,000 dollars. The main purpose of Skerrit's trip to China was to meet with potential investors; there are currently a number of real estate projects in Dominica looking to attract investment.

First thing you do with shitbombs is to unearth their hidden agenda because they only know how to lie. If you are guessing mass emigration to Latin America, new hideout for corrupted CCP officials/business partners, money laundering node, sucking dry local natural resources, polluting the entire continent the way they pollute theirs, using the Dominican passport to infiltrate USA, you wouldn't be too far off. Unfortunately Dominica wouldn't be the last to sell passports.....

'Chinese companies and banks are building and funding many infrastructure projects across Latin America. Analysts have said some of these projects are being built for geopolitical reasons, but the main reason is to secure supplies of natural resources for the burgeoning Chinese economy. A Railway to Connect two Oceans El Economista reported in November that Brazil, China, and Peru signed a memorandum of understanding during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum that they will jointly build a railway that will connect the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic – a great distance of 3,500 km. This is a heavy lift as there is not even a major highway running across the continent. In places, mud, snow, and jungle make the journey quite difficult. The newspaper reported that this was the first step in a $10 billion project that “will facilitate the export of raw materials.” The train will help exporters avoid the cost of passing through the Panama Canal, as the tariff for doing that has increased in recent years. (In August, we wrote about Chinese plans to build a $40 billion canal across Nicaragua here, to compete with the Panama Canal. The only update to that news is that the Chinese contractor this month reiterated its plans to start construction in December.) El Economista said, “…in the last three decades Beijing has increased its contacts to finance and building infrastructure in exchange for access to petroleum and minerals.” You could add to that list of raw materials soybeans, since Brazil exports huge quantities of those, plus corn. Both Brazil and Peru have petroleum and natural gas. Brazil also has iron ore. Peru has much copper, gold, silver, and iron ore. www.chinausfocus.com/finance-economy/china-expands-infrastructure-projects-in-latin-america/

The difference between good and evil is that good has its limits. China knows no limits.

Well, Dominica is going to turn into Sanya #2, New Sanya or Xi Sanya in a few years. Hope they enjoy the money though!

The only advantage is that it's a bit less than currently Greece and Hungary offers - in both these countries it's 250,000 EUR and the investor will get EU and Schengen state passport. But if you have free cash in the amount of about 2,000,000 CNY so you probably do not need that. If you are super rich so more or less any country will happily take you and if you are just rich so 250,000 EUR in cash will secure you quite happy life in China.

He clearly doesn't understand how bad Chinese want to leave China. He should have made it 1 million. How long before they have to pull the plug on this one? This is domed to fail (unless, they require the 200 grand to be given directly to the government of Dominica and the money is put to good use).

The Dominican passport holders can travel without a visa, or obtain a visa upon entry, to nearly 90 countries and territories. Many thieves have found a new backdoor into our home.

Well that's officially the end of Dominica. They have just sold their soul. A move they will deeply regret in the future.
