Woman Loses iPhone in Beijing Taxi, Finds Driver's Selfies in iCloud
Mar 26, 2015 By eChinacities.com

Yesterday afternoon in Qingdao, Shandong, Miss Li received some good news: she would get her lost iPhone back that she had left in a Beijing taxi two months ago. Miss Li had thought that her phone had been lost forever after having left it in the backseat of a taxi on January 7. However, selfies of her taxi driver soon started appearing in her phone's iCloud account. She saw the pictures and immediately called the taxi company to track down the driver.

This was a pretty dumb move by the driver: iPhone photos are automatically uploaded onto iCloud if the phone is not taken off the original account. The driver even had his taxi service card in one of the photos. A representative from the taxi company said that, “The driver has already used the cell phone in question and understands the circumstances. We are currently trying to return the lost property back to its owner.”

Business opportunity here, what if you can create a taxi service in China that has the best service as even compared to the world? Think about its potential...why take crappy taxi when you can take "TaxiMate" (working title) with better customer service (would be so easy to increase the service level in China as it is already at the bottom of the heap!) at the same price! Booya!

Tell me, how are you going to make sure that your drivers don't loot forgotten items in their car?

I only bother with a taxi if I'm in a rush or the metro's closed and I'm out on the piss. At those times who give's a crap about the service.
