On March 18, the Civil Aviation Resource Net of China released a report titled, “Punctuality Rates for Mainland Chinese Flights in 2014.” The report shows that about 65% of domestic flights in China were on time in 2014. March was the best month to fly in China: 72% of flights were on time in March 2014. More flights were late in July and August 2014 than during other times of the year. Last July, the  “average wait time,” for passengers was 60 minutes and the “average delay,” was 104 minutes.

In 2014, Xingfu Airlines had the most punctual flights while China Southern had the second most punctual flights. The airports with the most delays in 2014 were Beijing Capital, Shanghai Pudong and Guandong Baiyun. Shanghai Pudong International Airport's lowest point was July 14, where less than 30% of flights were on time with an average delay of 113 minutes. Passengers were better off at airports in Kunming, Shenzhen and Chengdu where they were less likely to get delayed.

This, combined with the average distance of Chinese airports from the city centre, makes air travel a complete pain in the butt in this country.

@Lord you are correct. I also read the article you are talking about. But as we all know, China is different from the rest of the world.
