A woman in Xi’an has memorized an entire copy of an English-Chinese dictionary. The 2,458-page book has a total of 220,000 entries and she is able to explain every single one.
Ms Li is a lecturer of English and memorized the book in order to improve her vocabulary so she could take on more translation work. She is still supporting her 26-year-old son, who has autism and can’t look after himself.
In order to complete the mammoth task of memorizing the entire dictionary, she has been reading for six hours a day, starting at 3 in the morning.
Ms Li, who has been divorced for 20 years, says that her biggest dream is to enter a reality TV contest called ‘The Brain’, which tests contestants’ brain power through memory games.

Well done lady, you have memorized a book. But can you do better than most of the students in China who've been learning English for many many years.... Me; "Hi, how are you ?" Student; "I like chicken." Me; "What's your name?" Student; "I'm 23 years old." However, you memorized a book...so, as Rob says, well done you!

And probably couldn't shape a non-Chinglish sentence. Not to diminish the achievement, but this is a zero competitive advantage and a gigantic waste of legit memorizing power. Translation is not about how many words you can recite.

Unfortunately china is running a fake anti-corruption campaign, otherwise her ability can be put to better use by enlisting her into their anti-corruption unit.
