Mar 06, 2015 By eChinacities.com

10 people have been injured after two people, wielding knives, began attacking crowds during rush hour at a Guangzhou Railway Station.

One assailant has been shot dead by police and another taken into police custody.  Police are now investigating the case, but no details of the attackers have been released.

One eyewitness, Chen Huichao, a police officer who was injured described how he shot three times at the attackers.

“A suspect was running from the exit of the railway station and chasing a woman and child who had fallen on the ground…it was dangerous, we were afraid of injuring them.”

Another 50-year-old witness told South China Morning Post, “They tried to hack me and I fended him off with my bag. Then he turned on my friend, but did not succeed in his attack.”

All the injured parties have been taken to hospital for treatment.

Jeeeeesus, how can you idiots automatically assume it's Muslims? Fucking retards. You don't reckon if it was Muslims/Uighers then it would have been made well-known from the start? It would've been pounced on by the media. I really can't believe your ignorance. You're as brainwashed as the Chinese are.

Seems to be a lot of jumping to conclusions here from 2 guests & Robk. I've seen video footage of one of these idiots & he was dressed as casually as any Tom, dick or Chen. There's absol nothing at the moment to say it was religiously or separatist motivated.

What is the thought process behind these attacks? We attack innocent civilians so you learn to fear and respect our foolish religious radical group? I doubt that is often the result. Usually these groups are hated, cause pain for others that share that religion and senseless killings for their victims. If they hate a government, shouldn't they attack that government directly (not saying they should but it makes more sense than civilians). Their actions have the reverse effect of improving security. The torture of their people is harsher and nobody really gains anything from these idiotic actions. Let's say there is a winner somehow, wouldn't it be the government because they now have powerful reasons to push laws that further reduce humans rights? Thus, giving them MORE control and strengthening their resolve? Why would terrorists want this? Are they so stupid that all they can think of is blind revenge and killing?

yes, it is, you got it right. They are taught to hate since born - not all of them, of course, but many and very hard. and than they justify each attack that the cruel govt done something bad to them. it is a circle, no way out until all on side erase the other. But, in the very same way, many chinese are taught to hate Japan. Man, when I talk with commies, real party members, and they start topic " do you know why we hate them?" they really cry even before they finish this sentence and you can see the hate in their eyes. It is like they see all those movies of "nanjing massacre" again and again front of their eyes. like if they was forced to watch it for hours every day and repeating all the shit that happenz. And yes, they want revenge and they believe, they will take the revenge. some of them said " my son is only 9 years old, but he already really hate and can't withstand Japanese." I have opponed to him by saying " My grandpa was born 3 years before WW2 started, he gone through the war as kid, our country was really fucked up by nazis, but he never ever talk about that times, never said he hate Germans " And he really didn't. Why to carry the stone of past with you forever ? and of course : japan have never apologized to us, never pay money like you have got from Germany and even deny that something happens. so, this is in their mind, too. like in the hard islamists the hate of anything western, any cult or worshiping somethign else than Allah. sometimes I say that Muslims and Chinese are same ... and in many ways, they are.

Not that I'm in support of their actions, but I believe the rationale behind attack innocent people in public places is a form of rebellion against the government, and serves as a msg to the rest of the population: Your government can't protect you. It's an invitation to let others question the government, for as we all know, one of the purposes of government is to protect the people it governs.
