Sat-nav Sends Women into Giant Puddle, Writes Off Car

A woman, who was a little too trusting of her sat-nav, wrote off her car over the weekend when she blindly drove it into a large puddle. Fortunately she managed to escape unharmed through the sun roof.

The incident happened in Hangzhou on Saturday February 28, when the 24-year-old driver, Xiao Guo, was in an unfamiliar area, so she turned on her sat-nav and began following the directions it gave.

Prompted by the sat-nav, she turned down a small road and found herself on a construction site on a road that wasn’t fully finished yet.

Believing that her sat-nav would never let her down, Xiao Guo continued down the road. Ahead, she could see that the road had collected water, but decided to go ahead anyway.

After driving into the puddle she came to realize that it was actually over a meter deep and her car was filling with water. After calling 110, who advised her to get out of the sun roof, she escaped with no injuries.

Authorities reminded people that sat-nav’s need to be updated regularly and that when you drive, you should probably pay attention to the roads.

Holy god. Does sat-nav really take precedence over her brain? Maybe crediting her with a brain is a bit generous. Hmmm.... the road isn't completed. Hmmm... there is deep water ahead. But look, the GPS shows a straight line. OMFG, WHY AM I SINKING????

It is hypothesized that, by 2045, artificial intelligence will surpass human intellectual capacity and control. It is my hypothesis that, by 2025, AI will surpass Chinese intellectual capacity and control due to their dire lack of critical thinking skills.
