A 25 year old graduate student has been arrested for hiring an assassin to assault his ex-girlfriend and cut off her ears, “so she would be unable to get married”.
Zhang, a student of minerals engineering was arrested last year in Zhengzhou, after a man who assaulted his ex-girlfriend Lulu, indicated that he was involved.
The couple broke up in 2013, after which Zhang hired Wang Wei (pseudonym) to carry out the attack- in a bizarre twist, Wang apparently waived his fee of 50,000 RMB in exchange for ‘killing lessons’ from Zhang.
Zhang then bought various chemicals online and instructed Wang on how to use them to attack his ex. He chose chemicals because they are less easily detected by security screening and easier to carry around.
Wang is in custody on attempted murder charges. Although not many details over the actual attack have been revealed, it appears that the assault was thankfully, unsuccessful.
