Shenyang police destroyed 3,000 boxes of fireworks in an enormous controlled explosion for ‘safety reasons’.
The fireworks were confiscated during a city-wide crackdown on illegally stored and traded fireworks. According to Tencent, the fireworks posed a threat to workers during the process of manufacturing and storing.
Nine suspects have been arrested for the illegal trade and storage of fireworks.
