US Companies Protest China’s New Tech Policy

US Companies Protest China’s New Tech Policy
Feb 09, 2015 By eChinacities.com

Seventeen US companies have submitted letters to top Chinese and US officials to protest over China’s new policy regarding foreign IT products.

The new policy proposes that any foreign IT company wishing to sell computer equipment to various key Chinese industries, such as banking and security, must hand over source codes, submit to auditing by government agencies, and build ‘back doors’ into software.

The letter, which has been signed by 17 groups including the US Chamber of Commerce and the US International Trade Commission, accused the Chinese government of protectionism and demanded ‘urgent discussion and dialogue’ with top Chinese officials over the matter.

The measure is part of an intensifying rift between the two countries, as the US has also made it virtually impossible for Huawei to enter the American market, citing security as a main reason.

US officials have also been pushed to protest against the policy, as a letter was also sent to John Kerry, Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew and Commerce Secretary Pritzker, urging them to resist the new policies.

have you heard the story of the hen which layed gold eggs?...or the whore who got fucked by a prince, and then went crazy?...in both the stories there is one common thing...the owner of the hen and the whore, both forgot their place and what they had gained, went all crazy in showing off power that they never realised they are destroying everything they had. Thats whats happening. For any country, its exports and foreign investments are very important, but now when china has reached puberty, is screwing up with everything, from small islands to big companies. Are they blind and not realise that all the raised taxes, and stupid laws, are driving the investment out. Its becoming expensive to produce here, and once every one leaves, china wont have any export to match the price offered by vietnam or thailand etc. etc. They are biting the hands that fed them and pissing in the plates that helped them. and when all the chinese people are like we have a 5000 yr history, such a large food palate,....." duh!!..its cuz you were hungry and poor for so long, you decided to boil every plant of insect you could find"....Insects are survival food, not bloody luxury...Im sorry to say but the plants they eat, even the goats do not eat back home. A big fat steak means a big fat cow, means great economy, not bloody 5 microscopic pieces of meat on bowl full of noodles cooked in water and fermented sauces. Anyways i got way ahead of myself.. so the point being ..China should reasess its foreign and local business policy.

'like we have a 5000 yr history, such a large food palate,.....' A 5000 yr toilet describes today's China more accurately.

This is not news. Simply another move in the cat and mouse game that has been going on since Nixon and Mao decided to jerk each other off some years ago. At Nixon's expense, in retrospect, given that the U.S. has since provided China with untold volumes of economic and technological aid to modernize the Middle Kingdom. Oh well. As Pat Nixon (in the wake of Watergate and other ill-begotten Nixonite forages, would proclaim: "My Dick is clean.")
