Local residents were very confused when a new sign for a CRT (Chongqing Rail Transit) station popped up at a construction site.

Many people got excited about the prospect of the new transport link as the area is served by just a few bus lines and isn’t very convenient in terms of public transport.

However, when they took a closer look, it turned out that at the bottom of the CRT map, the sign said ‘Open in 2017’ in very fine print.

It turns out that while Line 5 is under construction, there are no planned CRT links at that site.

It finally transpired that the real estate company responsible for developing the land, had put up the fake stop to use as a selling point to attract potential customers.
