Nanjing Migrant Worker Finds 130,000 RMB Cash- Turns it in to Police

A jobless migrant in Nanjing who found a bag stuffed with 130,000 RMB cash, did the honest thing and turned it in to police after spending three days agonizing over the decision.

48-year-old Wu Xuede stumbled across the bag when he was looking for work at the Nanjing Andemen Labour Market. After seeing what was inside, he was stunned.

He spent the next two days with his phone turned off, wandering around Nanjing fretting about the bag. He said that he was too afraid to stay in one place for too long and didn’t dare open the bag in public.

The police meanwhile already knew that Wu had taken the money after watching security footage and sent him a couple of text messages asking him to return the cash voluntarily.

After 3 days, Wu decided to hand back the money, but first called up the 96060 citizen’s hotline to request that a journalist accompany him.

Wu admitted that it was difficult to give back the money as it was equivalent to three years’ salary for him. “But I am not a bad person… I would never keep money that didn’t belong to me”.

The-Final-Say

Taking a journalist is the right thing to do because unless the journalist is on the take, not likely, they will ensure you are seen as doing proper and also keep the police from pocketing the loot and pretending nothing happened, I've heard of stories like this before.

Unfortunately honest people in China go nowhere. But full credit to him. He has just made some corrupt police very happy.

Good and bad people are every where . Honesty belongs to a person , not to a place ..
