Police and fire brigades in Zhengzhou were called out after a chef climbed to the top of an electricity pylon and threatened to jump off-all because his food had been criticized as too salty.
The Chef, surnamed Gang, climbed up the high voltage pylon in a fit of angst after a dish he cooked was criticized by a colleague. The colleague had apparently scolded Gang for twenty minutes, prompting this rather dramatic response.
Firefighters put down an inflatable safety mat as the restaurant got Gang’s wife to come and talk him down. She first tried calling him, then after he threw his phone to the ground, she tried to communicate with him through a police loudspeaker.
Gang refused to budge until Fang, the colleague who had sent him into his downward spiral, came out and apologized for scolding him. Gang agreed to come down with firefighters after two hours at the top of the pylon.
According to reporters at the scene, Gang was angry because Fang had brought a group of friends to dine at the restaurant and then scolded Gang in public after one dish was deemed too salty, despite the fact that he had ‘kind-heartedly’ cooked for them.

His feeling were hurt, totally reasonable and mature reaction. If anybody disagree with my opinion, my feeling will be hurt and I will jump from the 13th floor of my building.
