Sexology Post Grad Peng Lulu Becomes Nun
Dec 23, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Peng Lulu first hit headlines in 2011 when her job search stuggle attracted the attention of several national news outlets-now she is back in the limelight again, as she has decided to give up her job and become a Buddhist nun.

The sexology student grabbed headlines as the media highlighted her struggle to find a suitable job. As the only sexology graduate in China in 2011, finding a position in her field of expertise was something of a struggle, but she eventually succeeded in landing a job at the Zhuhai campus of Beijing Normal University.

Her professor, Peng Xiaohui, who referred to Lulu as his ‘academic daughter’ on his Weibo page, was choked up when he talked to journalists about her descision but says that he understands and supports her.

Lulu believes that Buddhism is ‘philosophy within philosophy’ and wishes to set up a channel for a real dialogue between Sexology and Buddhism.

Perfect example of how social sciences are under used in this society. She's only one of a select few in the country with her qualifications, yet no one fully understands what she can do. Would her difficulty continue if she was a man with the same qualifications?

Well if your only option is Chinese men, and you spent some years studying sex. You know you will be disappointed so why not.

Buddhism and sex seem inherently paradoxical, but I'm curious to see what correlations her meditations will reveal.
