Guangzhou Sets Up Special Team to Monitor Illegal Aliens, Check Documents

In an effort to control Guangzhou’s large and growing foreign population, the government has set up a special team to inspect documents of all aliens to ensure they are not of the illegal variety.

Recently we reported that Guangzhou has nearly 120,000 foreigners registered as living there, mostly from Japan and other neighbouring Asian countries. This survey was reportedly published by the provincial government to refute the rumours that Guangzhou’s foreign population is overwhelmingly from Africa.
