Well, it turns out that maybe Shanghai was also on high-alert this Halloween, and it wasn’t just Beijing being serious about Halloween costumes on the subway.
On October 27, a man, surnamed He, boarded a Line 2 train bound for Xujingdong at Jing’an Temple Station. The reason he was so memorable? He was dressed up as a zombie, and was actively scaring other passengers.
He was wearing a black jacket and jeans, and had fake blood all over his face, too. His behaviour really scared other passengers, several of whom called the police, and as a result he was arrested.
However, as with many recent ‘weird stories’, the incident turned out to be part of a larger plot to promote something; disgusting.

People called the Police and he was arrested. I guess this could be considered disturbing the peace... but by that logic... wouldn't these acts fall into the same category (because they scare me sometimes): - setting off fireworks randomly - yelling into your phone like the listener is deaf - honking your horn obnoxiously in traffic/when parked in residential areas - clearing your throat loudly and spitting in an elevator - blaring loud music from shops to gain attention It seems more like he was arrested because it was a non-Chinese cultural activity. Not because the act, in itself, is illegal.
