New Regulations Will See Families Forced to Give Up ‘Extra’ Children
Oct 28, 2014 By eChinacities.com

The Department of Civil Affairs has recently announced new regulations regarding the fostering of children, reducing the permitted number of foster children to two; this means that families who fostered three children under the previous regulations will now be forced to give one of them up.

Zhang Zhenyue, a representative from the department stated that the aim of the new regulations is to improve living conditions for the children as many are fostered by rural families who struggle to cope.

The ‘extra’ children will be removed and re-situated with other families.

The scheme also will allow people to foster street children for the first time. Due to the requirement that a child’s family history must be full documented before fostering, meant that street children weren’t eligible for the scheme.

Families with their own child under the age of six will also be unable to foster.

It's about time. Damn orphans get all the glory right? The hero in every disney movie? Orphan. Harry Potter? Orphan. Every dickens hero? Orphan. Sick of it. Glad to finally see SOMEBODY take those orphans down a peg.

And I'm racist when I say China (country) is a barbaric society because of practices like this. Is it so difficult to just apply the new regulation to new cases?

For those families who fostered three young children with hearts filled with love for and devotion toward each of them, I can't imagine the anguish that they must be feeling.
