Students Entering Job Market; Salary Expectations Low

On October 18, Chongqing’s Talent Recruitment Market took place, where 500 companies supplied over 10,000 positions, and around 6,000 people came to participate, half of which were university students.

Car companies and education organizations received the best welcome. Southwest University of Political Science and Law student Cao Kezheng came here to apply for a position as an English teacher, and although the salaries were listed to be between 3,000 and 8,000 RMB, he believed that getting 4,000 RMB was not bad, because of very high levels of competition.

The human resources director of an education institution said that the students had a very good attitude, were extremely modest, and that their salary requirements were low; generally around the 2,000-4,000 RMB a month mark.
