Woman Walking Baby Ostrich to Promote Sales of Ostrich Meat

Woman Walking Baby Ostrich to Promote Sales of Ostrich Meat

On October 18, Beijing’s urban dwellers came across a rather weird sight in Sanlitun – a woman walking a baby ostrich on a leash.

Slightly disturbingly, this was actually a promotion, it was actually an advertisement for ostrich meat. There were even samples on the square by Beijing’s Sanlitun.

This wasn’t the only location for this bizarre advertisement, as Dongdaqiao fell victim to the tiny and adorable ostrich on October 13.

China is not foreign to weird promotions, as Shanghai recently saw people stripping on the subway to promote a laundry service, and a store in Zhengzhou attempted to create a Banana-boat style e-bike.

I've tried ostrich only once in my life and I remember it was very good! It looks and tastes a bit like beef as far as I remember. Apparently it's high in protein and low in fat compared to usual meats. I'd give it a go again if I found a place.

Lord Hanson is right - ostrich is delicious. Strange way of promoting a food - showing how cute it is.
