On October 10, at Sichuan Fine Art Institute, retired associate professor Wang Xiaojian was seen and photographed kissing two female students during dinner time, on their cheeks and hands.
The netizen who photographed him went on to put the photos online, and said that the contact was forced, as he witnessed the girls trying to stop him.
The Sichuan Fine Art Institute has announced to have cut all ties with him following the incident: cutting his participation in teaching, research and other activities as well as the financial benefits enjoyed following retirement.
He formally apologised for his actions on October 12, according to womenofchina.cn, and admitted to drinking prior to the incident, too.
This is not the first time that those who are educators are thrown into the limelight for inappropriate contact with students and abuse of power, and the frequency of these events are causing students to stand up for themselves.

They should not be socializing with him any way. He might not be approriate in what he is doing but a girl should never put herself in such a position.

Exactly... we don't know. We don't know what happened prior, and even what was going on at the time. We just have a photo, and commentary. It could be just a little "inappropriate", and they were having fun. It could be that he was forcing kisses on an unwilling recipient, while her friend was too freaked out to respond. It could be somewhere in between. Before going to a knee jerk emotional reaction, it's important to evaluate just how much we actually know, and what we don't know.
