The Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention published a report on September 22, indicating that the number of reported cases of Dengue Fever in Guangdong has now reached 6089, with the number increasing by 1,200 cases in just three days.

Guangdong continues to closely manage the conditions in affected areas such as Foshan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhuhai where clusters of cases have broken out.

The Center for Disease Control has urged local residents to take extra precautions against mosquitoes, and for tourists to take preventative measures when visiting areas affected by the dengue fever outbreak. You can minimise the risk by ensuring that there is no still water in your house, and by using mosquito spray with DEET.

If you are in this area and you experience symptoms such as muscle and joint ache, fatigue, headaches, fever or nausea, please seek medical attention immediately.

I just had Dengue fever, it sucks, it's painful, but I didn't die, and you won't likely either. As long as you drink plenty of fluids you should be ok.. Here is blog post I just wrote about it. http://space.echinacities.com/229424/blog/spacenodedetail/2915
