Survey Claims 50 Percent of Guangzhou Residents Satisfied with Environmental Quality

Guangzhou Public Opinion Research Center recently published a 2014 public opinion poll about the environmental quality in Guangzhou. The research shows that 50 percent of respondents said that they are ‘satisfied, or ‘quite satisfied; 14 percent responded ‘not very satisfied or ‘not satisfied; 35 percent responded that it was ‘neither good nor bad’.

In terms of the government’s environmental protection work, 45 percent responded that they are ‘satisfied’ and in terms of water, sound and air pollution, most were satisfied with the noise pollution levels, with 50 percent; 49 percent responded ‘satisfied’ with water quality.

Guangzhou residents were most dissatisfied with the air quality with only 34 percent responding that they are ‘satisfied’; almost the same percentage of residents responded ‘not satisfied’, at 32 percent.
