On September 3, the World Economic Forum released the 2014-2015 Global Competitiveness Report assessing 144 economies across the planet.

Switzerland ranked top for the sixth year consecutively, followed by Singapore at number 2, whilst the US beat Finland and Germany, to take 3rd place, a jump of from last year’s 5th place ranking.

China’s ranking rose one place, from 29 to 28 this year, due to its improved government efficiency, quality of education and training and market functions.

Furthermore, China’s macroeconomic environment has stabilized and inflation is under control. The report is based on the Global Competitiveness Index which analyzes various countries’, economic stability, infrastructure, medical services, education levels and financial markets.
