Town in Shaanxi Launches Tickets for Trash Scheme to Promote Green Tourism
Sep 02, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Authorities in Baoji, Shaanxi Province have come up with a new way to deal with litter bugs; by rewarding people who collect trash with free tickets to attractions.

Citizens who collect a kilo or more of trash in famous tourist attractions such as the Famen Temple and Taibai Mountain can then exchange it for green tickets. The green tickets can then be redeemed for cash or tickets to various attractions.

The scheme is only in place from September 1- October 31, but if it’s successful, perhaps the scheme could be implemented in other beautiful spots in desperate need of a clean up
