A foreign national was caught on camera in Chengdu attempting to grab the steering wheel of a moving bus, then hitting a bus driver, because he missed his stop.

According to the driver, Yang, the man, who he described as around 30 years old, tall, thin and blond, was a nuisance from the start; when he got onto the bus he paid using only 2 mao instead of the usual 2 RMB fare. When Yang protested, he apparently didn’t understand.

A while later, he came to the front of the bus, having missed his stop. He wanted Yang to stop the bus, and requested so in magically remembered Chinese. Yang refused, and the man then yelled, “I want to get off! If you won’t open the door, then you are wrong!”, before proceeding to start hitting random buttons behind the wheel. When that failed to open the door, he tried to grab the wheel from Yang, whilst the bus was still going, and wrestled with Yang until the next stop.

Before getting off at the correct stop, the man hit Yang on the head, just to be extra douchey.

Yang had this to say: “He was very rude, and had no awareness of public safety. Whilst the blow didn’t hurt, it was a little insulting.”
