A Henan high school has set new standards for prudery this week when it issued an outright ban on engaging in relationships with other students.

Yanshi high school officials announced their new police on Monday. Previously, only holding hands was forbidden, but now, “students will be expelled if they engage in a relationship and become a bad influence on others.”

According to the Global Times, the new rules have been well received by parents, much less so by the students; “We’re people too, not cold hearted studying machines”, one student wrote in protest on an online forum. “We also have passions and desires.”

I've noticed that China is full of rules but not many are obeyed. But they can use the extra rules to punish whoever they like (read no guanxi, no money). In the immortal words of the Bay City Rollers "some girls do, some girls don't, some girls need a lot of lovin' and some girls don't". Such genius in those lyrics. Unfortunately I forget the rest of it. I've had a bit to drink so it'll be a wonder if I get passed the security code. Here's wishin' and hopin'

“We’re people too, not cold hearted studying machines” Don't worry. The Chinese education system will fix that.
