China to Develop Domestic Operating System

China to Develop Domestic Operating System
Aug 26, 2014 By eChinacities.com

China is working fast on developing a Chinese branded operating system for both desk tops and smart phones, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The new system could be up and running by October and the move is being seen by many as an attempt to lessen dependence on US operating systems such as Apple and Microsoft.

Ni Guangnan, who is heading development, expressed hopes that the domestically developed OS will able to replace current desktop systems within two years.

Technology companies have come into the cross fire amidst cooling relations between the US and China. Last month, Qualcomm and Microsoft became the focus of antitrust investigations and are facing fines that could reach into the billions.

Public agencies forced to do so, and a lot of things are government-funded, like most banks. Banks that forces you to use Windows for online banking, with shitty ActiveX plugins. Maybe the banks will require BaJieOS to do online banking ?

So a government backed IT company has cracked the source code for Windows and Apple products and are ready to release 'new' software OS's. I am waiting to see the similarities on their release.

No need to crack anything, you have open-source operating systems for that :) MacOS is itself a close derivative of Unix, Android is based on Linux.
