Jackie Chan’s Son and Taiwanese Star Kai Ko Arrested for Drug Abuse in Beijing

Jaycee Chan, son of movie legend Jackie Chan, and Taiwanese actor Kai Ko, best known for his roles in the Tiny Times movie franchise, have been arrested in Beijing on charges of drug abuse.

Beijing police confirmed that the two stars were arrested on a tip off from neighbours. They were apprehended in a foot massage parlour and drug tested. They both tested positive for marijuana and 100 grams of the drug was later seized at Chan’s Dongcheng apartment.

31 year old Chan is under criminal detention for allowing others to take drugs in his apartment, whilst Ko is in administrative detention for drug abuse. Two others surnamed Sun and Song, who allegedly sold the drugs to the stars are under criminal detention for drug trafficking.

Ko has been sentenced to 14 days in jail and will have to issue an apology. Details of the others’ sentences haven’t been released, but the process will be more drawn out and complicated as they’re in criminal detention.

This latest episode signals that the capital is really getting tough on drugs; just over a week ago several bars across the city were subject to an impromptu drugs raid, leading to nine arrests and at least one deportation.

Absolutely wrong thought! Richness doesn't mean you can do whatever you want! Wealth can creat more value rather than devalue yourself. You can use the money to realize your dream or buy things you like, but everything you do must abide by the law. No rules no peace.

@leehomjulia It's exactly what he means, and he says it by using the opposite logic and pushing it to the point of ridicule. It's called "sarcasm". http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sarcasm

Cocaine (including crack) and heroin are natural herbal products too :p But yes, marijuana is less addictive than alcohol, and you are less likely to be dangerous under marijuana than alcohol. I think most of the problems created by marijuana is due to it's illegality, it creates a black market, like alcohol under the Prohibition. I guess it makes the police looks good, catch a few big fishes.
