Hubei Monk Criticized for Blessing Porsche
Aug 14, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Netizens and the international press have been harrumphing over a monk in Xiaogan, Hubei Province who blessed a businessman’s new Porsche for an undisclosed sum of money.

According to the Daily Mail, the businessman, surnamed Tao, is the owner of a software development company and wished to have the car blessed to protect him and keep him safe when driving.

Several online critics pointed out that if he wishes to stay safe on the road, he would do better to drive slowly rather than relying on blessings to protect him.

Netizens also condemned the monk’s actions as greedy and going against fundamental Buddhist principles.

I see no harm in getting his car blessed,i also got my car blessed!!!Even if you do take care on the roads, whats to say that someone will not drive into you!!! I disagree that he should not have paid anymore for a blessing.

Obviously wrong. You don't bless white autos. Why? Because they show all the dirt! Hell you look sideways at your white exotic after it's washed and BOOM it is dirty! Give up all hope, white cars are cursed!

The monk should have blessed the person (Mr. Tao), instead of the car.
