Wuhan University Brings Out Luxury Dorms, Complete with Terrace
Aug 06, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Cramped, dingy dorm rooms, stifling summers with no air conditioning and freezing communal showers are a quintessential part of life as a student in China. However this may be changing, as Wuhan university is opening luxury rooms at double the cost of normal student accommodation.

The rooms are 45 square meters, accommodate 2 people (compared to the usual 4-8 people to a room) and include a 10 square meter balcony. They also include a private bathroom and 24 hour hot water provided by solar panels.

The rooms costs twice as much as a bunk in the normal dorms at 2,400 RMB a year.

What they probably did was just open the foreign students dorms to locals. Many schools built a lot of international rooms looking to accommodate 100s of foreign students but could only draw about 20 students at a time.
