There were no wounds or injuries on the girl and the cause of death wasn’t immediately apparent.

The girl encountered the large canine on the way back from the bathroom with her aunt.

According to her father, Zhao: “[The] dog suddenly jumped out on her way back and she suffered a bad shock",

"I rushed over to find my girl foaming at the mouth and her pants were soaked from the scare," said Zhao.

Police are currently investigating the incident.

i mean where i come from we dont put children behind seven locked doors, we let them play with animals, infactt we would raise a lion/tiger cubs with the children, its pretty normal to have exotic animals and raise them as family...the children take care of it...builds up a heart in them...and the animals have a good place to grow...once the cubs are of hunting age...we put them in a sanctuary or something... humans have actually forgot their duty to the animal kingdom...be it dogs, cats or other animals....poaching for skin and ivory etc. and in the end it upsets the natural balance of the ecosystem...when im having children, im definitely buying them a pitbull...lol

actually china has stupid dog laws...like alot of breeds not allowed, for e.g great danes...(why?? because they are big)...how ever i had great danes all my life, and they are the most gentle dogs on the planet...( i would beg mine to bite someone, something...chase a cat...something dude)...what they dont see is its not that the dog is bad, its the owner is bad,...if the owners put proper time in exercise and training even ovcharkas can be gentle dogs...and if not, i have seen labradors rip gutts out cuz the owner was an idiot... It would be so much easier and better if they made it compulsory for dog keepers to attend training seminars for their dogs.. after all these aggressive dogs are actual miserable in their life, thats why they act life that...they just need some love and attention...

Very sad when young souls are lost like that. The fact that the dog jumped on the girl proves the common-Chinese just don't get it that their dog must be on the leash. It's sickening to see that the pride goes before any kind of danger prevention. Look at me-I have a power over yet another living thing I don't give a damn about-it's walking next to me and I don't have to use the leash because that's how much power I have! Their dogs run away to the road and get hit by cars, they attack children, they get stolen. But who cares-dog is just another pretty accessory for them, isn't it?!

Yes it is very sad for the girl. Your comments are spot on the mark. Unfortunately children here are overly protected from everything - including life!

"I rushed over to find my girl foaming at the mouth and her pants were soaked from the scare". Well that's an epileptic attack and nobody was there to help her. At least this is what it looks like. In case this is true, the the father knew about it before hand and he should be taken as responsible for that. The dog may have scared her and triggered the epileptic crisis.

This. It's sad but don't blame the dog. Come on!

I know and it's true, that's why I blame the father who now tries to scam the dog's owner with some responsibilities as the posters above mentioned already.

Good sir, it was not my intent to imply that you blamed the dog. :)

Umm... in the more civilized world... wouldn't we call this a seizure? Not "being scared to death"... It sounds like a seizure to me. But I am can only image people saying "She was scared to death by the dog" to try and get "compensation" for the loss. Because that is how they roll here. That's my shot in the dark, how is my aim?
