A picture that took the world by storm, and surprise, in 2011 has resurfaced recently and has gone viral all over again. The sign in question warns ‘foreign is forbidden strictly to enter’ a certain police area. That’s not even the worst part, it also depicts what this demographic looks like using pictures of people sporting different traditional clothing such as a turban, a native American headdress and a bowler hat.
Although we are likely to spot many interesting signs on a nearly daily basis, this one stands out as particularly entertaining and rather prejudice.

I think it's more a case of bad English (associated with "why checking the grammar, who cares") and lack of tact/cultural awareness than genuine racism. Sloppy, no tact, but wants a lot of face...

I'm ok with not having access to certain areas. That's expected and normal. But this sign seems to be racist on purpose. As if the author went out of his/her way to make that their main intent. Why not just use the words, "Restricted Area" or "No Unauthorized Personnel?"

I wish the American government would impliment procedures at Pearl Harbor. Last time I was there, Japanese tourists were at the Arizona Memorial, chattering away and taking photographs as if it were a thrill ride at Walt Disney World. Three thousand servicemen died there and remain entombed in the sunken ship. While I have no personal issue with any group or race of people, if your people did terrible acts during a war, you do not deserve to be able to visit such military bases in the future, even if times change and people become allies. If I am not welcome to see something in China, I'm cool with that, there are enough things to see and do, right?

@ The-Final-Say Should American's not be allowed to visit Hiroshima or Nagasaki? Should Germans not be allowed to visit Concentration Camps? You fail to realize that not every member of a society agrees with the position of its leaders, government, or majority/plurality of fellow citizens.

@The-Final-Say: And what about the countless "wars" waged against the Native Americans? Perhaps one solution would be to inform and remind ALL visitors of the sanctity of such a place and to conduct themselves appropriately.

You live in a land where you anihilated its native population. Hypocrite.

While the sign is an absolute disgrace, the pictures are quite amusing. I haven't seen too many native American Indians in China.

This is an army site and they don't want to see spies inside. No joke, yes the pictures are terrible, but of course we shouldn't have access in all fairness to their military base dorm room, because it's not our business which doggie style position they choose to do.

If there were to be spies in there, I HIGHLY doubt they would look like any of those pictures on the sign, and would most likely appear to blend in with the local population...

So if you're a spy, don't wear an American Indian head dress!

It looks like they wanted to forbid the "Village People." They must not be fans of disco.

How wonderfully rustic! (At least, they got the spelling correct...)

Oh, the spelling is correct; the sentence is just incomplete: "Foreigner is forbidden (to/from what?)" Doesn't really specify, does it? Just generally forbidden?

Wait a minute, I thought we were not allowed to critique grammar on this website? It only proves we have small penises or are dissatisfied with our jobs! Shame on you.

it must be a result of us being generally forbidden. a lot of us are being p-whipped by control-freak Chinese partners, too.
