600 Wenzhou residents got together to come up with a solution to their old lady problem. You see, Wenzhou has this beautiful city square for public use, yet it is overrun by old ladies doing traditional dancing. These ladies take up the majority of the space and won’t back down. After multiple attempts to get rid of them, from throwing feces to firing warning shots, to releasing the Tibetan Mastiffs, nothing seemed to work. So they decided to think bigger.
Between the lot of them they accumulated 260,000 RMB and bought a powerful sound system to drown out the ladies’ music and ‘repel’ them from the square. The residents say that it was a last resort.

The older generations in China are frequently the worst in terms of selfishness and violence; the majority of those in their 70s aren't academically educated, went through WWII, the Cultural Revolution during which kids betrayed their parents, the entire family ate bean sprouts grown from their own shits, on their rooftop. Ruthlessness and selfishness are "normal" to them. Frequently on buses you see it is these folks who use their elbows to knock anyone in their path out. Some, including those in the 50s and upward, run around bragging to the younger generations as if these are virtues. Good teachers they think they are. Unfortunately, quite a few bought that. So you get producers of poisonous milk, wall plaster filled medicine, gutter oil....etc. Result is, both old and young generations are reaping what the older generations sow. When they swallow wall plaster filled pills in old age homes, or being ripped off by doctors and toilet cleaners, the smarter ones among them may start to realiase what their ancestors were talking about when they said "karma sucks".

old fogies in china are the worst of the lot. *still* no manners or empathy at their age, and to top it off, they must be given respect at all times. it's like misbehaving kids who nobody can discipline.

Well, this is not an individual case, it's phenomenal. As we can see square dancing ladies are everywhere dancing in spree at public sites with piercing fogy music. While worker migration in China is being intensified day by day, more and more houses are occupied by the elder,usually with children working at remote areas nationwide and worldwide. As a result, they relay their love and regard to little pets. Life is boring and they feel more and more lonely, they are desperately trying to drive away the breathless loneliness by joining communities and they resort to square dancing.It's a social problem given the demographics, to strive a balance between good and bad has no easy answer.

very logical. Prevent old-lady gangs from playing their loud music while they dance by blasting even louder music. Probably ****ing even more people off. This will probably result in the old ladies just changing their dance routine to fit the new music.
