Man Arrested for Posting Advertisements Trying to Swap Baby Boy for Girl

A man in Henan Province was recently arrested for attempting to orchestrate a baby swap at his local hospital. He was caught after a reporter responded to a flyer that he’d placed in the bathroom, offering to swap his newborn son for a baby girl.

34 year old Liu and his wife already have an 11 year old boy, and were hoping that their next child would be a girl, but their ultrasound revealed that they were expecting a son. With the baby soon due, the family decided to just play swapsies- their boy for some random stranger’s daughter.

He posted the advertisement in the hospital bathroom, where it was discovered and responded to by an undercover reporter. Liu apparently suggested that they have the deliveries in the same hospital in order to facilitate the swap. He didn’t ask for any money and requested that they cut off contact after the switch.

When police came to arrest Liu, he told them he was unaware that it was illegal to randomly swap your kid like a playground snack and promised not to do it again. He was released after a ‘stern telling off’ from officers. Hopefully he won’t be up to any more tricks and his son will never find out that his parents attempted to trade him in before he was born.

That's a massive generalisation there Ted. You obviously don't have much respect for Chinese culture. One might wonder why you are in China if you hold the view that its people are such a financially lascivious lot. You don't like the people but you are more than happy to take their money.

Proof that Chinese culture views children as items and not people.
