Ancient Iron Pipes Discovered in China Make Scientists Question Human History

Iron pipes that were discovered in an ancient pyramid structure in Qinghai Province have baffled scientists after using thermoluminescence dating by the Beijing Institute of Geology concluded that they are 150,000 years old. This would completely throw off existing theories on human development as it was previously thought that humans had only inhabited the area for 30,000 years.

The pipes range in size, with the smallest being the size of a tooth pick. More of the pipes were discovered running down to a nearby salt water lake, and underneath the lake bed.

Adding to the mystery, some of the pipes were discovered to be highly radioactive, further confusing scientists and delighting conspiracy theorists, who are having a field day.

Aliens and ancient lost civilizations are among the proposed theories, but the idea that they might be natural formations, fossilized tree trunks or the dating machine is broken have also been put forward.

Ha, the Baigong pipes ! They are very likely to be a natural (albeit rare and surprising) formation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baigong_Pipes http://www.skepticblog.org/2009/12/03/researching-the-baigong-pipes/ http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4181 150 000 years ago, it was the end of Homo Erectus, and just the beginning of Homo Sapiens, so those pipes are very, very unlikely to be the work of man. For the radioactivity... Qinghai have a lot of nuclear sites :p
