Cool Guangzhou Boss Gives Employees Time Off for World Cup

Cool Guangzhou Boss Gives Employees Time Off for World Cup
Jun 12, 2014 By eChinacities.com

One super cool boss of a software company in Guangzhou’s Tianhe District, is letting his employees take time off whenever England is playing in the World Cup.

He has also spent 100,000 RMB on ‘sports lottery tickets’, betting that England will win the tournament-a pretty risky bet given England has only won once, and that was nearly 50 years ago- which he has given out among his employees.

Mr You also bought his staff England jerseys to wear during the games. He said that he hopes the staff can learn about team work from the games.

Despite all this, Mr You isn’t even a mega fan of English football- he just chose England as a substitute because China failed to qualify, yet again.

Let’s hope, for the sake of Mr You’s employees, that England doesn’t get knocked out in the first round.

I love soccer/football. But it just seems so pansy these days. All the athletes probably take acting lessons just to fake the knee injuries. It looks so lame, pathetic and shameless. It reminds me of the old Chinese people that fake injuries lol

Fair play to the guy. Good to read about a nice boss for a change. He sounds like a decent person.

That might be why he picked England! I want them to win too but I don't see it happening.
