Mongolian Women Arrested Trying to Cross the Border with Sniper Rifle
Jun 05, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Three Mongolian women were arrested at Mongolia’s largest border crossing for trying to smuggle firearms into China. The three smugglers were caught when their luggage was passed through X-ray machines when going through Erlian border crossing.

Security personnel seized a Russian Dragunov Tiger hunting rifle from the women who later confessed that the intended buyer was a Chinese citizen named Yin.  He had purchased the weapon for 12,000 RMB whilst in Mongolia in February, and conspired with the women to smuggle the gun over the border in parts.

Yin has since been arrested. When questioned on his motivation for the crime, he simply replied that he ‘likes sniper rifles’.

the article says they conspired to smuggle it in parts???? I guess they didn't too much thought into the "parts" bit as how i understand it, they were caught with the whole gun.

12,000 rmb? A Dragunov is a BUDGET "sniper rifle." He could have bought 3 for that much.
