Man Earns 2.5 Million RMB in Six Months by Hiring Out Tesla
Apr 25, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Yesterday the first 8 Tesla cars were sold in mainland China, to a great deal of fanfare. The much hyped brand is now becoming known as the ‘iPhone’ of the car world, as it officially enters the Chinese market. However, the first Tesla vehicle to hit the mainland actually came over six months ago when a man from Dongyang called Zhang Jianliang spent 2.5 million RMB on a Tesla and brought it over from Hong Kong.

Zhang admitted that spending that much on the Tesla was just a stunt for the privilege of being the very first mainlander to own one. After all, the price he paid far exceeds the actual price of a Tesla.

At first Zhang didn’t intend to use the car to make money, but a real estate company saw the car, and wanted to borrow it for their opening ceremony.

Afterwards people from all over the place wanted to borrow the car for all kinds of activities. The business minded Zhang wasted no time in cashing in on this opportunity and started renting it out for extortionate fees; the highest rental fee of any one time was 150,000 RMB. In just six months, Zhang has earned back the inflated price he paid for the car in the first place.

That was cute...I don't understand what's so surprising about this story! working for a luxury car brand name as a sales person or whatever, earns you as much as it's price scale allows you to; I was actually expecting some ordinary but rather genius guy earning a large amount of money like the one this article refers to, in a way people wouldn't think of and wouldn't be able to earn doing the same way of making a living. Anyways, good for this guy, I don't really know the scale and how much guys like him really earn generally but okay ;-d

This is absolute waste of money. Tesla's High Price is due to it's Eletric engine technology. It's supposed to be eco friendly. But due to China using massively coal and other bullshit CO2 energy instead of Nuclear power plants and renewable sources, this might actually be even worse for the environment. Absurd.
