Hundreds of Dragonair Passengers Spend the Night in Grounded Plane in Shenzhen

252 passengers were stranded at Shenzhen Airport and forced to spend the night in a grounded Dragonair plane, following a heavy hailstorm on March 31.

Flight KA875, which was travelling from Shanghai to Hong Kong, was forced to divert to Shenzhen Airport due to treacherous weather conditions in Hong Kong. However, when weather conditions improved, the plane suffered from a power failure which prevented its departure. Passengers and crew were consequently forced to stay on the tarmac for seven hours.

“The initial plan was to re-depart to Hong Kong as soon as the weather condition allowed... regrettably, the delay was further extended when there were technical problems with the aircraft's auxiliary power unit,” a spokesman for DragonAir said in a written statement.

Or even the ferry ;). But the immigration formalities would have given immigration to much of a headache and they would have just said "no".
