At 22:00 on March 24 the Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Razak, announced that the missing Boeing 777, Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 was found in the South Indian Ocean. He announced that after 17 days, no survivors were expected and that we can now, finally, say that all 239 passengers have passed away.
Malaysian Airlines CEO, Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, announced that not only will the families be flown free of charge to Australia, they will also all be given $5,000 compensation from the airline.

What the hell? this is misleading, the airplane hasn't been found yet and the Malaysian PM didn't say it has been found. What has happened, was that based on satellite tracking the airplane has been deemed to have flown towards the Indian Ocean and crashed *somewhere* in the Indian Ocean, thus are all people on board assumed perished. Not one piece of wreckage has yet been found.

And ... Why fly free to Australia and spend days and nights in hotels, from taxpayers pockets ? Can't they just wait there, until they really find and pick up everything ? Just expensive holidays.
