The last five days have seen China’s capital covered in a blanket of haze, and it’s beginning to get to people.
In protest of the appalling air quality, students at Peking University in Beijing have started a campaign called ‘Let me put on your mask for you’ by putting face masks on all the statues on campus. So now we have famous historical figures such as Cai Yuanpei, Li Dazhao and Cervantes all prepared for the terrible air quality.
The students responsible, all from the universities psychology department, have announced that they are doing this to get the attention of the authorities in the hope that something will be done about Beijing’s air quality.
