On February 20 in Shanghai a man attempted to rob a bank using a kitchen knife, only to be laughed off by the teller he tried to get the money from.
At around noon on the day of the robbery, a man was seen pacing back and forth while constantly talking on his phone. After a short while he approached one of the counters, pulled out a kitchen knife and asked for money from a woman working at the bank. At first she jumped back with surprise but then realized that there was bulletproof glass separating the two. She then, while fighting back her laughter, called security who came to arrest the ‘robber.’
The police are currently investigating the case and the man will be assessed by a psychiatric professional.
