Sun, a university teacher in Nanchang, was sentenced to five years and 10 months in jail on January 14 for organizing and making online pornos. In March 2010, Sun saw an advert online for a female television anchor, and after reading the website Sun applied to work as an agent for the website. Sun then began to recruit women from Nanchang and Ningbo to perform in these videos for the site.
Sun was caught in 2011, and in August, 2013 faced charges of gaining illegal profits through making erotic videos (or something to the equivalent). In addition to over five years in jail, Sun received a fine of 50,000 RMB, and the 225, 000 RMB in profits Sun made from the videos were confiscated. Sun appealed the first conviction, but the charges were up held on January 14 and Sun will not be appealing again.
