Theme Park Planned in Sichuan Complete with Life-Size Replica of Titanic
Jan 14, 2014 By eChinacities.com

A Sichuan company plans to spend 1 billion RMB to build the world’s first life-size replica of the Titanic for a theme park in Daying county. Not only will you be able to go aboard, you will also be able to experience the moment when the Titanic hit the iceberg.

Su Shaojin, chief executive of the investing firm, was  quoted in Reuters saying, “We will let people experience water coming in by using sound and light effects … They will think: 'The water will drown me; I must escape with my life'."

Bernard Hill, who played the captain in the movie, was in Hong Kong to show his support for the project. “They’re very aware of the extent of the tragedy in 1912. I don’t think they will belittle that tragedy.”

No, not offensive at all! I imagine the return on investment might offend, but it's their money.

China, never fails to surprise does it? How about we build a theme park in Europe dedicated to Chinese disasters? How well would that do?

"Su Shaojin, chief executive of the investing firm, was quoted in Reuters saying, “We will let people experience water coming in by using sound and light effects … They will think: 'The water will drown me; I must escape with my life'." As this is China, I think this will be very VERY realistic!

The way things are built in China there could be a second Titanic sinking very soon.
