CNN recently held an online poll inviting readers to vote for the world’s 15 best rivers for travelers. The Lijiang River in Guilin was the only Chinese river to make the list at the number 14 spot.
The poll was determined by scenic beauty, nature and wildlife, culture, adventure, and activity options. According to votes, the Lijiang River (aka Li River) received top scores for scenic beauty and 3/5 points for activities.
The other 14 rivers that made the list were:
1. Amazon River (South America)
2. Zambezi River (Africa)
3. Río Cahabón (Guatemala)
4. Sepik River (Papua New Guinea and Indonesia)
5. Danube and Rhine (Europe)
6. Irrawaddy River (Burma)
7. Kenai River (US)
8. Ganges River (India, Bangladesh)
9. Rio Futaleufú (Argentina, Chile)
10. Nile (Africa)
11. Caño Cristales (Colombia)
12. Colorado River (US, Mexico)
13. Loire（France）
15. Volga River (Russia)
