Beijing International School Buys Oxygen Tent for Exercising Students

The air pollution in Beijing has received international attention over the past few years. The results of a study by Germany’s Max Planck Research Institute were realeased on January 7 and revealed that more than 17,000 people die each year from pollution related diseases in Beijing alone. “The air pollution situation has become very serious,” the institute expressed.

One international school has realized the severity of the problem and has come up with a solution so that its students can exercise without endangering their health. The school had a $6.5 million oxygen tent installed on their school grounds. The tent features tennis, volleyball and badminton courts as well as a locker room and a sporting goods store. Children can use the tent for exercise but are also welcome to just hang out in there to take a break from breathing in the toxic air. All classrooms at the school have also been fitted with air purifiers for further safety.

We wish we had an oxygen tent to exercise in!

Teachers who works in Beijing should be compensated for breathing that kind of air. It is good that children of rich people enjoy this privilege.Others should breathe toxic air. That is how the life in China.

China 2024. All wealthy people live in air-tights climatized dwellings, breathing purified air. The common people breath an awful air, even wearing the masks distributed by the gouvernement. Meanwhile, polluting energy production and factories keep polluting without serious attempts at changing things : any change would mean increased production cost. And if Chinese products are not cheap, they can't compensate on innovation or quality. So... No change, and get breathable air if you can pay for it. I wish it's just a bad dream, I wish it's just me being tired.

Almost the start of a good scifi dystopian future story. The unclean will rise up to take down the privileged class but of course they are doing it because they have been influenced by another rich class so they can take over, creating a puppet leadership that then goes on to fulfill their diabolical ends
