Number of Smokers in China Reaches Over 300 Million People

According to the National Health and Family Planning Commission, China is the world’s largest producer and consumer of tobacco; as well as the country most affected by the harmful side effects.

The number of smokers nationwide has risen to over 300 million people, with secondhand smoke affecting around 740 million others. The number of deaths caused annually by smoking sits around the 1 million mark, with a further 100,000 people dying from secondhand smoke related causes.
