Watch that video and you'll think we're animals. If you look at this from a self-righteous, arrogant, and condescending viewpoint..sure it's terrible. If you look at this as a Chinese person, it should be a little offensive...I guess.. I know if a Chinese dude..no wait..an Asian person.. said this to some random reporter in America I'd still think it was funny. This is..bogus.

Sorta funny but also pretty stupid idea. Look at the media's version of the reenactment, they made it look more violent and you know all Chinese people will believe this now : http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNjUzNTgxMTQw.html

Wow! Filthy liars! Grass growing on the pavement all of a sudden, the bad foreign guy changed his jacket and is virtually raping the Chinese reporter. But it's black and white so it must be authentic. Thanks for sharing this.

Hahahahaha! "which is sure to leave the already tainted image of foreigner even more so." "Miss Wang was very upset by the incident, as was the online Chinese community with some calling for the deportation of the offender." " fuels the fire of anger AGAINST THE FOREIGNER. This is a sad day for foreigners in China who try to keep the image of visitors to the country clean." And the sad joke here, is that this is just another sad day for China, not for "THE FOREIGNER". And locals just don't understand why. At all.

and WHY should the locals understand them? If anything, you are in their country T.T

Locals don't understand that Chinese media is demonizing foreigners. This article is just another example of how China treats THE FOREIGNER: It's 1 personality type, from a single country named Wai Guo, and the state media has done everything it can to make a harmless but rude comment have maximum negative impact on the standing of the rare and diverse community of foreign minorities here. All to validate their delusion of cultural superiority, and deflect anger away from government failures. But thanks for demonstrating that it's not just locals who don't seem to get it.

Couldn't have said it better. In addition, assuming these foreigners were drinking, the Chinese reporter should have known what she was getting herself into approaching a partying group, foreigner or local. Of course they're going to say something inappropriate. I'm surprised it stopped there. It reminds me of a T-shirt that I want to make and wear in China, "I turn uncivilized when I'm drinking, but what's your excuse."

Well fountain, when you watch news in your home country do they make a point of saying if someone is "a foreigner" in a news story?

CHINESE MEDIA DEMONIZES FOREIGNERS. AGAIN. A very unfortunate incident took place on Christmas Eve which is sure to leave the already tainted image of Chinese state media even more so. A news reporter, Miss Wang, from the Hubei Economic TV Station was sent out to the streets near Huazhong Normal University where many foreigners are students, and tasked with asking a few of them to say a Christmas message. It was going very smoothly until she approached three men who appear to have started the celebrations early. One of the men grabbed the hand of Miss Wang which was holding the microphone, held it to his mouth and said ‘I love you, I love you, show me your boobs’. Miss Wang was very upset by the incident, as was the online Chinese community with some calling for the DEPORTATION of the impolite prankster! The video which shows the incident has gone viral on Youku and includes a dramatization of the event, courtesy of state media, which fuels the fire of anger against "the foreigner". This is another sad day for China, which loses respect from the international community with such incidents. It is also a sad day for journalistic standards within the state media, who have yet to learn fair and balanced news coverage. Even FOX News is more subtle in its approach towards political propaganda!

Of course not, but this is China, and like any country, it has its corky customs. I hope someone in your life taught you that, when you go to another country, respect their customs. China made a line between foreigners and locals, so take advantage of it before you could abuse it, or you are not gonna go very far in this country. That's not just China, that's any country, that's life.

Fountain, That's bullsh*t! Hitler used the same tactics to gain support against the Jewish community. It's just flat wrong. Furthermore, you say, "it's their country." As if that justifies something? It may be their country, but it is also MY HOME. Millions of Chinese have migrated to MY country, but our media doesn't go out of its way to lump Chinese with Mexican and Russian and call them FOREIGNERS. I think it is a little childish and very ethnocentric, if not downright racist, to think that there are only two kinds of people in this world, Chinese and Foreigner. China has a clear agenda, promote xenophobia and nationalism and strengthen the self-righteous boundary between China and the rest of the world in order to wipe out any possibility of rebellion and distract the population from the true enemy. They use your fear of the unknown, "xi nao" wash your brain to command your loyalty. They jump with joy when they have the opportunity to depict foreigners as evil and wrong. They love to use the word "terrorism." That's blind bigotry, and it's wrong when the USA (my country) does it. Therefore, it's wrong when China does it too. Every authoritarian government is the same. How? They control the message, they control the media. It's called, "yellow journalism." And they often use it to promote nationalism. The fact that YOU THINK this is a Chinese "corky custom" is evidence that their tactics are working! They've convinced you that this bigotry is normal and therefore acceptable. Your brain has been washed, my friend. Learn to "read between the lines" and approach every media outlet with more prudence.
