Why are all these laowais bitching so much. Ever heard of "My house, my rules". You come to somebody's country and enforce your point of view that this is not a big deal, maybe it's not a big deal in your country, but you are protecting some morons who are being rude and offensive. People are not that open minded here and please respect that. Try to go to the Middle East and do the same to a female or even in your country to any reporters, it's extremely rude to say that. Again, if you think China is so bad, you don't have to stay here. Foreigners get so much respect from Chinese people like they are celebrities at times no wonder laowais like it here. Westerner media is not any better, though I have to admit they are smarter. And stop comparing your country with China, it's like comparing apples and oranges.

It would be nice if they said where he is from... rather than grouping the entire world's population minus China into the same category. Or better yet, how about just using "Drunk guy" instead of nationality or "foreigner"... oh of course not... that wouldn't sell the papers and get the views. This kind of journalism sucks. I don't want to get lumped into the same group as this guy.

Really? Then explain all the Chinese people who move to Canada and piss and cry because people protest shark fin soup or try and pull their typical scams and screaming racism when they're caught. "My house, my rules" indeed. Sorry, that doesn't extend to racism.

well, if it's illegal to eat shark fin, they are welcome to arrest them. They should live by the rules too if they live in Canada or elsewhere.

China is not a house. The guy only lowered his own image when he said that to the reporter, and nobody is calling her decency into question. The media is milking anti-foreigner hatred. If laowais like it here so much, why are there less than 600,000 foreigners in a country of 1.3 billion? We DON'T like it here, and that's why we're only 0.045% of the population. But ignore anything I say; zhongguoren always do. Go back to QQ, where people validate your thoughtless opinions! All of China will have a glorious future! Happy clappy joy joy!

For the record: I've met a lot of Chinese women on QQ who ask to see my penis...and then there are the men who check out my stuff at the urinals...It is probably true that this guy has met many of the same or he would not have been so forwards.

Yes, I agree, the dramatization video was overdone but he clearly stepped over the line when he touched her. He is lucky he didn't get his ass beat or arrested.

Back home this SOB would get the shit kicked out of him and some woman's liber would have him charged with sexual assault. He would also be charged with public misschief among other charges. Yeah, deport him, or at least send him to jail for a few nights so he can reflect on his stupidity. His behavior is unacceptable in any country. As for the reporters actions; it is not an excuse to be an SOB.

unfortunately china doesnt make it very hard, you arrive here and go to a hotel, you get prostitution cards under the door, you get phone calls, in the room there is a a plaque with numbers for different types of 'massages'. you walk down the street and a guy asks you if you want women, you head down an ally way to avoid him and walk past a bunch of whores sitting on couches. the fact that no chinese person has respect for anyone outside their family is forced upon you here in the middle kingdom, so from the moment you arrive you are shown no respect, why would you show respect to a society that shows you none? if you did that would be idiotic. This guy was drunk and made a rude slur, nothing more nothing less. In his home country it probably wouldnt have happened, but here in the corrupt kingdom!?!?!?!?!?!

why would you approach a drunk idiot? what reporter would report this (there is a thing called editing)? Most "news" media have hours of footage to tape, but they "showed" a 4 sec clip with a re-enactment...amazing

Was wondering the same thing. With media here being as censored as it is, how would something like this ever get out to the public unless someone deliberately tried to turn this into a big deal? And whats up with that call for deportation? I get to listen to racist comments every day, and get physically shoved around or treated rudely in different ways, yet am supposed to accept it as a difference in 'culture'.

Whenever these stories come up they highlight the immaturity and incompetence of China. In a grown up country this would MAYBE...MAYBE... make the news about some total idiot acting like one. There certainly wouldn't be a reenactment and more demonization of foreigners. What a bunch of idiots running China.

Maybe he said "Show me your books" and just had a terrible accident. Now he can sue them for mistreatment and slander on national TV. They clearly misheard and changed it to "boobs". Perhaps he said show me your books, and meant ID because his English isn't so good because he wasn't certain if she was a real reporter. I am going to legally represent this guy and sue the hell out of the government! Their ass is grass!

Hey, what if this guy took CCTV+government to court over this dramatization of a minor incident? I know there are pretty much no anti-discrimination laws for westerners in China, but he can at least claim damages on a personal level. China deliberately mistreated a foreign student at Christmas Eve over a bit of impoliteness. The Chinese state deflects public anger away from itself by deliberately drawing attention to foreigners, and it saves them a bundle on "stability maintenance". They'll probably pay off this guy in court and still feel like it was a good deal for them. Maybe this guy just won the F-ing lottery!

So what?!?! I cannot tell you how many times I have been solicited on the streets by old laotaitai's for "sekesi with beautiful lady". It didn't matter whether I had a wedding band on. Or how about checking into the hotel with wife, getting to the room only to receive the infamous "you like massagie?" phone calls? I am not offended and am not going to post on Facebook or Youtube about Chinese Red Light District habits. I'm sure this man probably had a few drinks or maybe was caught up with the excitement. Echinacities, what happened to stories like "foreigner saves drowning woman" and "foreigner stops to help old lady put lost apples in her bag"? Yawn......
