Students Collapses During Race, Regains Consciousness 2 Hours Later

Unlike the two recent stories about Chinese hospitals this one might just make you believe in their competence again.

During a 1,600 metre run a seemingly healthy 20 year old student suddenly collapsed and stopped breathing. He was quickly rushed to the medical centre at the university, but they couldn’t get him breathing again, so they conducted a trachea intubation and began CPR. He was then sent to hospital. After 2 hours of working on him, he miraculously started breathing on his own.

A week later the young man has made a full recovery and is resting at home. Doctors still haven’t been able to find out what made him collapse in the first place.

always bring your lucky wad of cash, or you may have an unsuccessful recovery.

The smog got him, and then released him.

Miraculous recovery. Unable to determine the cause of the collapse. It should make me believe in the competence of hospitals? It might, if medicine were a matter of luck and good fortune. Next time I visit a hospital, I'll bring my lucky 4-leaf clover and demand that the doctors make a wish before prescribing medicine. Too bad they can't cross their fingers while they hold a scalpel.
