3 Students Expelled in Yunnan After Bringing Lunch into the Classroom
Nov 29, 2013 By eChinacities.com

A school in Yunnan Province has expelled three students because they brought their lunch into the classroom, more specifically, they brought paper bowls and plastic cutlery into the classroom.

People quickly accused the school of being overzealous in their punishment, and it seems they took heed because the expulsions was dropped for probation of 6 months and two of the students have had their bursaries taken away. Well, that is better, sort of, but it still seems a bit overdramatic. The poor mites were just hungry, and probably a bit bored of school dinners. We’ve all been there.

In defence of their punishment, the school explained that they have over 4000 children, more than 1000 of which board at the school, and that strict punishments are in place over bringing in food because the school grounds could become awash with rubbish.
